Virgen del Carmen

Virgen del Carmen — Torre del Mar's most atmospheric night of the year. Every 16 July, fishermen carry the patron saint of the sea down the beach and into the water.

Updated 25 June 2026

On 16 July the fishing community carries the image of the Virgen del Carmen — the patron saint of fishermen — out of the church and down to the beach. The statue is loaded onto a fishing boat and taken around the bay, with a flotilla of decorated boats following behind.

It's the most atmospheric night of the Torre del Mar year. The seafront fills up; fireworks usually close the evening.
