Playa de Levante

Playa de Levante — the eastern beach of Torre del Mar, closer to the lighthouse and the Río Vélez. Quieter, with a more local feel.

Updated 25 June 2026

Playa de Levante is the eastern half of Torre del Mar's seafront, running from roughly the lighthouse out toward the mouth of the Río Vélez. It has the same dark sand and calm shelving as Poniente, but with noticeably fewer sun-loungers and umbrellas.

If you walk the full length east you'll arrive at the Paraje Natural Desembocadura del Río Vélez — a small protected wetland where flamingos, herons and migratory birds gather. Quiet at golden hour.

FAQ

Is Playa de Levante less crowded than Poniente?
Yes — Levante stays noticeably quieter all summer because the main paseo restaurants and the central parking cluster around Poniente.
